Good to know

Postmaster does not need a dedicated machine. It can run alongside other applications on any computer on your LAN — saving you hardware cost.

Network Requirement

You need a TCP/IP-based LAN so that email clients on each desktop can communicate with the Postmaster server.

  • Standard Ethernet LAN (10/100/1000 Mbps)
  • TCP/IP protocol configured on all machines
  • Single internet connection (shared by all users via Postmaster)

Client / Desktop Requirements

Client machines use any standard email client — no new software for your staff to learn.

  • Microsoft Outlook (all versions)
  • Outlook Express
  • Mozilla Thunderbird
  • Eudora
  • Netscape Communicator
  • Any SMTP/POP3 compatible client
  • Built-in Postmaster webmail (browser access)

Minimum Hardware Guidance

For small to mid-size offices (up to 100 users), a Pentium-class machine with 256 MB RAM and 10 GB disk space is typically sufficient. Postmaster runs as a background service and does not demand significant CPU resources. Larger deployments should contact us for a sizing recommendation.
